이메일 이메일의 등장으로 우리는 역사상 가장 간편하게 글을 주고받을 수 있게 되었다. 손으로 글을 써서 한 통의 편지를 완성하기보다 이 메일을 보내기가 훨씬 수월하다. 발송 방식의 차이를 떠나서라도 이메일은 내용 면에서 편지에 비해 훨씬 편리하다. 이메일은 우선 글의 완성도에 얽매이지 않아도 되기 때문이다. 미완성의 생각을 상대방에게 물어서 지혜를 구하거나 단편적인 이야기를 주고받으면서 일을 결정할 수 있다. 표현에서도 종래에 비해 자유로움이 허용된다. 하지만 여기에는 함정이 있다. 격식을 차리지 않아도 된다는 것은 뭐든지 '제 맘대로' 표현해도 상관없다는 뜻과는 다르다. 긴장감이 풀린 상태에서 쓴 글을 읽는 이의 시각에서 보면 이해하기 힘든 경우가 많다. 그런 글이 빈번하게, 그리고 대량으로 오간다는 ..
